Overview

Cummings Electrical is hiring an Electrical Designer III for our Integrated Manufacturing facility in Arlington, TX.

 

Cummings Electrical is expanding our Integrated Manufacturing team. We design and build custom, integrated, modular systems such as e-houses, electrical skids, HAC’s and UL 508A panels for a wide range of projects, including data centers, healthcare facilities, industrial plants, and more.

Responsibilities

• Architect comprehensive power infrastructure strategies for hyperscale facilities, ensuring resilience, concurrent
maintainability, and code compliance.
• Execute and sign off on advanced calculations including breaker setting profiles, short circuit thresholds, and feeder
physical dimension parameters.
• Enforce strict adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC - Article 645), NFPA 70E, and local regulatory
mandates.
• Manage the end-to-end development of comprehensive contract documents, single-line topologies, load calculation
structures, and specifications.
• Provide direct mentoring, technical review, and professional validation of work created by Level I Designers and
Level III Modelers.

• Designing: Lead the complete engineering design of medium-to-low voltage distributions, substations, generator
configurations, UPS systems, and mission-critical topologies (e.g., 2N, Block Redundant).
• Modeling: Direct modeling strategies, review spatial distributions for compliance, and use BIM environments to
evaluate electrical system integrity.
• Understanding of Concepts: Mastery of fault current calculations, discrimination coordination, arc flash safety
boundary logic, lightning mitigation, and mission-critical reliability matrices.
• Creating Sheets & Developing Contract Documents: Approve and sign off on full structural contract documents,
single-lines, schematic sequences of operations, and comprehensive building plans.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5 to 7 years of progressive electrical infrastructure design experience, heavily concentrated within the
data center, telecom, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Technical Knowledge: Master-level application of the NEC, Uptime Institute guidelines, and IEEE standards.
• Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; EIT or PE track status is a major
differentiator.
