QA/QC Manager

Overview

We are seeking a QA/QC Manager to oversee project execution and ensure all work meets client specifications, schedule requirements, and the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and safety. This role is responsible for interpreting construction drawings, applying a strong working knowledge of local codes and regulations, and upholding rigorous HSE standards in line with Cummings Electrical’s commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with all pertinent environmental health and safety programs
  • Adhere to company guidelines and processes
  • Build relationships and create teamwork within the company, and the project team
  • Monitor and administer the QA/QC plan or program to ensure that quality related activities or functions are undertaken on the projects
  • Observe production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications are being met and contractual requirements are fully implemented
  • Ensure incorporated materials/equipment on the projects are in compliance with the plans and specifications.
  • Discuss results and findings and recommend any required adjustments or corrective actions to processes or assemblies
  • Maintain controlled copies of Work Procedures Manuals and Forms
  • Implement inspection criteria and procedures
  • Conduct and document necessary field inspection investigations, and prepare and distribute timely associated reports
  • Responsible for producing quality work, must be organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality
  • Monitors operations for adherence to project plans, specifications, and procedures
  • Make sure that equipment and parts are operating correctly as well as meeting industry and regulatory standards
  • Responsible for the performance of on-site tasks related to quality control (QC) compliance
  • Participates in the development of procedures and quality improvement solutions related to specific assignment area
  • Attend pertinent meetings and assist with schedule planning activities

Qualifications

Basic Job Requirements

  • Technical school education or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 5+ years of directly-relevant work experience in mission critical or data center industry
  • Keen attention to detail is necessary in order to detect defects that could be easily missed but still present a safety risk
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively when reporting issues and defects is necessary
  • Interpret blueprints and other drawings that detail product specifications
  • Experience with measuring tools is required
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization to bring about successful completion of project
  • Must demonstrate ability of being a good team player
  • Experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks
  • Knowledge of quality assurance standards
  • General experience performing basic set up, alignments, maintenance, operations, and/or calibration of conventional tools and/or equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and follow detailed procedures and work instructions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with general supervision
  • Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, 
  • Megohmmeters, infrared testers, hydraulic torque equipment, alignment tools, various hand and power tools) and with 
  • Heavy equipment required for facility maintenance, including working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Office products including but not limited to Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience in BIM 360 Field is a strong plus.
  • Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Position Qualifications

  • Must be willing to work long hours and adhere to on-site work schedules
  • Must be eligible to legally work in the United States
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Incumbent must pass a drug test.
  • Ability to work in extremely adverse weather conditions 
  • Ability to work around low- and medium-voltage equipment
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing at project locations in order to inspect equipment or collect information
  • May be exposed to sunlight, inclement weather, excessive wind, excessive heat, and/or excessive noise, large equipment, fuels and other mechanical liquids as well as walking and driving on uneven terrain when visiting project sites.
  • Ability to work long hours and variable schedules on occasion, including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends. 
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within the limits of the position.
