Layout Technician

We are currently looking to find a Layout Technician in our BIM / VDC Department. You will be assisting in the construction coordination process. As a Layout Tech, you will be working in a fast-paced construction environment driving exceptional quality and service for major residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

As a Layout Technician, you will need to be highly organized, detail-oriented, hardworking, and capable of effectively managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills that will allow the individual to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Review contract documents from GCs, owners and vendors.
  • Gather information from contract documents pertinent to electrical installation,
  • Determine circuitry grouping, conductor size, conduit size, conduit routing, etc. for an efficient electrical installation.
  • Digitally draw equipment, conduits, and boxes in an accurate representation of the installation.
  • Detail, tag and label layout drawings to a level that installation cannot be misunderstood.
  • Communicate with VDC Coordinators and construction teams about the nature of the installation.
  • Working in Bluebeam software, knowledge of Bluebeam is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of field experience in electrical installation.
  • Journeyman Electrical License.
  • Working knowledge of NEC
  • Computer Skills, including Bluebeam and Excel are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and able to effectively collaborate.
  • Maintain project coordination schedules and provide updates to internal teams.
  • Must be eligible to legally work in the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
