We are currently seeking a hard-working, experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for projects involving commercial electrical construction. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include: front-end loaders, dozers, loaders, compactors, excavators, and other pieces of equipment. This role is also commonly named: Back hoe operator, equipment operator, heavy equipment operator, loader operator, track hoe operator.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety regulations. Safe operation of equipment is a must; negligent and/or abusive operation will not be tolerated.
  • Promptly report any mechanical or safety problem with the equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with other personnel.
  • Proficiently operate one or several types of power construction equipment on site, such as: 
  • Bulldozers, Compressors, Pumps, Shovels, Tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth.
  • Repairing and maintaining equipment.
  • Perform a daily equipment walk-around inspection and preventive maintenance responsibilities.
  • Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
  • Assist in tasks such as installing conduit, duct banks, manholes, other tasks related to underground electrical installation

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant heavy equipment experience with proven safety record.
  • General knowledge on reading blueprints and understanding elevations.
  • Knowledge and experience working with different types and sizes of equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization to bring about successful completion of project.
  • Must demonstrate ability of being a good team player.
  • Experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks
  • Able to work throughout DFW metroplex
