We’re hiring: Electrical Estimator

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate project plans, specifications, bid documents, and other relevant materials to determine the necessary components for creating a bid proposal.

  • Calculate the cost of electrical construction by examining and assessing available documents.

  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and personnel from other departments to discuss estimates, formulate plans, and resolve any issues that arise.

  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding modifications and adjustments to cost estimates.

  • Prepare estimates that management will use for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.

  • Participate in job site walk-throughs with other estimators as needed to address any field conditions that could potentially affect construction, bids, or pre-construction designs.

  • Solicit quotes for materials and equipment from vendors and suppliers.

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors.

  • Prepare bid documents, including detailed scope letters for each project, evaluations with adjustments for procurement, labor rates, productivity, etc., and identify any inconsistencies, conflicts, or other issues.

  • Design electrical service systems for projects, including building and pre-construction services.

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial and/or industrial projects
  • Experience in estimating projects valued at $3 million and above
  • Thorough knowledge of the electrical field, including materials and construction methods
  • Familiarity with the NEC and local codes
  • Experience using industry-leading estimating software (Accubid, Conest, Sage)
