Safety Manager Integrated Manufacturing

We are currently seeking a Safety Manager. The Safety Manager is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and documenting, and training personnel as it relates to safety performed on projects within our facility. Qualified candidates will support management, production, quality, and logistics teams in developing and sustaining an Incident and Injury Free Culture.

 

Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Support Production, Quality and Logistics Supervisors/Managers in development of Job Hazard Analysis, PROP Plans, MOP’s, and all other safety related documents.
  • Communicate with Production Manager regarding concerns about the project progress.
  • Perform site inspections/observations and document using SmartTagIt.
  • Coordinate required permitting and make ready process.
  • Conducts Job Hazard Analysis and Incident Investigations
  • Advises personnel regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure zero injuries and regulatory compliance.
  • Conducts routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of IM facilities.
  • Responds to emergency situations and participates in incident investigations.
  • Monitors the implementation of all safety related corrective actions and program enhancements.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of safety programs through daily facility walks; regulatory compliance and audit oversight.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors.
  • Provide regular feedback and makes recommendations to Management Leadership on safety areas for improvement, correcting unsafe conditions and recognition, and provides necessary safety training.
  • Perform new hire training, 60-day orientations, pre-project orientations and all other safety related training, as well as participate in community outreach programs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements

  • A) BS Occupational Safety & Health required with a combination of either:
    • 12-15 years relevant experience
    • or Certified Safety Professional (as recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals) and at least two 2 years of relevant experience.
  • B) Completion of OSHA 500 Basic Instructor Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry and must have performed full-time safety responsibilities for at least 10 years in the relevant industry.

Training

  • OSHA 10 Hour
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • CEI Hot Work Classes 1 & 2 (Minimum)
  • CEI 30 Hour Class (Competent person class for safety tops & presenting safety meetings)
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and adept at learning new software
