Responsibilities

As a VDC Intern you would support the department and Supwevisor with the following:

  • Prepares and maintains detailed design drawings, schematics or specifications using Revit under supervision
  • Creates, modifies and controls detailed two- and three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings from engineers' and technicians' sketches, plans and written and verbal instructions.
  • Develops and maintains drafting standards and procedures.
  • Works closely with design originators (e.g., engineers, designers) to resolve design details or discrepancies or to prepare drawings of unusual, complex or original designs which require a high degree of precision using computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment related to various types of projects and tasks including but not limited to:

                Modeling of commercial and industrial electrical systems

                Revit family building

                Revit template standardization

                Sheet detailing

                Project Setup

                Drafting of manufacturing drawings

Qualifications

Eagerness to learn new programs and computer languages

Great attention to detail

Ability to problem solve and think outside the box

Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions

Strong communication skills

Ability to work independently once trained to do certain tasks

 

High school diploma / GED

Basic computer skills

Python and or C# a plus but not required

Knowledge of Dynamo a plus but not required

Knowledge of electrical trade a plus but not required
